Pleasant Valley Central High is always expanding its curriculum. Part of the process is coming up with new classes to offer its students. In the past, The Sims Times has been for all the improvements and new classes they offer. Whether it be more funding for academics, a new club and even new classes. It’s a great chance for students to learn new things.

However, it seems the school board has gotten a little carried away with themselves. Currently, in gym class, they do a unit on ballet for girls and wrestling for guys. It seems, however, that the board wants the guys to do the ballet too.

The ballet unit would not remove wrestling for guys, but it would remove the gameplay unit for both genders. During the wrestling unit for boys, the girls would do some friendly tap dancing. To some this seems like a great idea. However, to those who are against it, we understand. Making guys do ballet during gym class is not the best idea.

Most guys haven’t ever stepped out onto a dance floor to dance, let alone do ballet! Plus, by allowing the guys to continue with the gameplay unit, both genders would benefit in the sports field. It seems that when the gameplay unit was proposed Central had some poor sportsmanship. However, just one year later, Central’s sports teams were ranked at #1 in the state for sportsmanship. Do we really want to see that award go to Veronaville?
